Interdisciplinary ScienceÌýResearch holds the promise of unlocking learnings from multiple academic disciplines to solve global challenges. The ranking, launched in partnership with Schmidt Science Fellows, is the first effort of its kind to measure universities' contribution and commitment to Interdisciplinary Science.
Responding to the view that the world’s pressing problems can be solved only with insights from a range of scholarly fields, THE and Schmidt Science Fellows launched the ranking to enhance scientific excellence and foster collaboration among universities, aiming to provide institutions with benchmarking data and rewarding campuses that incentivise cross-disciplinary work.

Data collection for the second edition of the ranking took place from January to March 2025. ÌýPlease note that the data collection portal for the ߣߣÊÓƵ Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026 has closed. The results of theÌýISR 2026 edition will be announced on November 2025.
