Spare a thought for the unsung academic heroes of Sunday's London Marathon. Staff from Northampton University's School of Health treated some 200 runners for blisters, sprains and blackened toenails. The university has been offering support at the event since 1988, and Diary understands that its leg massages are particularly popular.
