A conference on 'Antimicrobial growth promoters: worldwide ban on the horizon?' will take place in Noordwijk aan Zee in the Netherlands on 31 January and 1 February 2005.

In light of recent developments in the EU and the US, as well as recommendations by the World Health Organization, the event will enable a debate on the current situation and the rational design of strategies for animal feeding without the inclusion of antimicrobial growth promoters.
