ߣߣÊÓƵ has announced that it is increasing the funding for its Linkage International scheme, thus allowing more ߣߣÊÓƵn researchers to participate in international collaborative projects.

With a further AUD 2.97 million (1.86 million euro), the ߣߣÊÓƵn government will fund 42 new awards for ߣߣÊÓƵ-based researchers, and 20 new fellowships, allowing both ߣߣÊÓƵn researchers to carry out work at overseas institutions, and researchers from other countries to work in ߣߣÊÓƵ for up to 12 months.

Projects to receive the new funding will address, among other areas, a waste water treatment system that will convert organic pollutants into harmless compounds; developing size-controlled nanoparticles for direct methanol fuel cells, potential power sources for portable devices such as laptop computers and mobile phones, and advanced screening protocols for the identification of genes involved in nutrient sensing and nutrient efficiency in plants.

Of the 20 fellowships, 12 will support ߣߣÊÓƵn researchers working with partners under reciprocal exchange agreements with France, Germany, South Korea and Israel. Researchers from a further 14 countries will work with ߣߣÊÓƵ following the release of the funding.
