The Fraenkel Prize in Contemporary History. The Institute of Contemporary History and Wiener Library have awarded prizes to the following for 1997: Vicki Caron, professor, United States; Nicholas Doumanis, ߣߣÊÓÆµ.

Queen Elizabeth II Award

The ߣߣÊÓÆµn Research Council's award has been presented to Phil Andrews, for work in pure and applied chemistry under the supervision of Robert Mulvey at the University of Strathclyde. The award has enabled him to undertake independent research in the area of supramolecular chemistry for five years at Monash University, Melbourne.
