In a similar vein, Bee Gees Robin and Barry Gibb and their late brother Maurice will be awarded honorary degrees by Manchester University next week. If this is an attempt to shake off the stereotype of the dusty academic institution by bringing popstars into the fold, surely they could have found some elderly rockers without beards?
