"The Arctic Monkeys and Lily Allen may have to look to their laurels," the University of East Anglia announced this week.

The university has made a bid to become "the next big thing" in the world of the popular video-clip website YouTube. But its efforts so far appear not to be hitting the mark.

UEA has posted footage of its new automatic book sorter - a "totally automated book return and sorting solution based on the use of Radio Frequency Identification". As The Times Higher went to press, UEA had some way to go to match YouTube chart-toppers the Arctic Monkeys, whose Brainstorm video boasts over 2 million hits.
