In an increasingly competitive world, Universities Scotland has been contemplating how to brand Scottish higher education more effectively.

Its international group decided to look for an existing Scottish collective brand that contained a number of strong independent brands in the hope that this would provide a suitable case study. It now has a large number of volunteers offering to investigate the branding of Scotch whisky.
