Staff at the University of Central Lancashire who forked out for an annual staff parking permit were less than happy with a recent missive from UCL transport services manager Fiona Baynton-Roberts. She sent out new application forms with the warning: "Please note that the possession of a current valid parking permit does not entitle the bearer to a guaranteed parking space."
