A one-day briefing event on the financial management principles governing projects funded under the EU's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 21 April.

The workshop will draw on case studies and practical examples, and will give an insight into the Commission's thinking on the financial management rules.

Some of the specific topics to be addressed by the event are:
- sources of reference on the financial rules;
- the financial rules and the FP6 instruments;
- eligible costs and subcontracting;
- allocation of resources;
- collective responsibility and managing liability;
- annual reviews;
- audits.
