An event entitled, 'Finding Partners in Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology Research' will be held in Vienna, Austria, on 16 and 17 May to discuss the building of a European Knowledge-based bio-economy.

The event will include delegates and speakers from science, industry, academia and government to discuss the exploitation of new and emerging research opportunities that address the growing demand for safer, healthier and higher quality food, the sustainable production and use of renewable bioresources, the increasing risk of epizootic and zoonotic diseases and food related disorders; and threats to agricultural and fisheries production from climate change. The event will also offer the participants the chance to get the latest information about funding possibilities under the Seventh Framework Programme.

The event will enable interested parties to meet potential cooperation partners for product development, licensing agreements, joint ventures or participation in EU-supported research and development projects.
