Talking of government communications, it appears that press officers on the higher education desk at the Department for Education and Skills have a shorter shelf life than the ministers they work for. Another press officer is moving on - the fourth in a year. Some have fled to the rather more lucrative world of parliamentary lobbying, others just took another press office posting.
