The Further Education Development Agency was relaunched this week and renamed the Learning and Skills Development Agency. The acronym Lasda has not gone down well with employees who would not be seen dead in a Soviet-manufactured car. Those who park in the agency's basement, rubbing shoulders with the National Criminal Intelligence Service that shares the garage, have a better name - the Curriculum Information Agency or CIA.
