Lawyers have long been described as blood-suckers. Now Canadian researchers have identified exactly how. At next week's vampire conference, Sarah Swan and Sharon Sutherland of the University of British Columbia will present a paper that explores the use of vampire imagery in case law.

The paper, Piercing the corporate veil - with a stake , is divided into four parts: "Vampiric litigation - the case that would not die", "Drugs and vampires - the replication of evil", "Bloodsucking and taxation" and "The just plain colourful".
