Congratulations to Julia King, who has been appointed chief executive of the Institute of Physics.
Dr King joins the institute from Rolls-Royce, where she is director of engineering and technology for its maritime business. Before joining Rolls-Royce, she was assistant director of the University of Cambridge's technology centre for nickel-base superalloys.
