As references from your tutor go, it's probably not one of the best. Taib Kasnazany, a student on Teesside University's postgraduate degree in criminal law, was co-opted to "murder" senior law lecturer Cath Crosby for the university's first Crime Day. Police studies students arrested him and gathered evidence, and law students appeared for the prosecution and defence in front of a jury of upper-sixth-form pupils, who duly found him guilty. Ms Crosby said: "If I had to be bumped off by someone, I'd sooner it was Taib. He's been a real asset to the course."
