Ian Mentor , former head of the school of education at the University of North London and head of research and staff development at the University of the West of England, Bristol, has been appointed Paisley's new dean of the faculty of education and media and professor of education.

University College Worcester

Bernard Cohen has been appointed writer in residence for the next 18 months. He was recently presented with an Arts Council of England Writer's Award and has produced three novels.

Ridley Hall, Cambridge

Christopher Cocksworth , currently director of the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme and member of the Church of England Liturgical Commission, has been appointed principal of Ridley Hall, Cambridge from September 2001.
