Congratulations to Gordon Marshall, who has been appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Reading. Professor Marshall, who is currently chief executive of the Economic and Social Research Council, will take up the job in January next year. He succeeds Roger Williams, who is chair of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
