The PAGES second open science meeting will take place in Beijing, China, from 10 to 12 August.

Past Global Changes (PAGES), a core project of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme, facilitates and supports international and interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding the Earth's past environment in order to make predictions for the future.

The title of this year's IGBP-PAGES open science meeting (OSM) is 'Paleoclimate, environmental sustainability and our future'. The meeting will focus on understanding past processes and natural variability within the topics of climate, environmental change and human impact in order to develop predictive models of the future.
