Pedal for your porridge

Southampton's higher education institutions this week clubbed together to encourage more people to cycle to work.

To induce the change, they are today offering cycling staff a free breakfast with Bill Wakeham, the vice-chancellor of the University of Southampton; Roger Brown, principal of the Southampton Institute; and Lindsey Noble, chief executive of Southampton City College. The trio will be joined by Parvin Damani, the city's mayor.
