People's peer Lord Loon

Aberdeenshire paper The Press and Journal is always keen to find the local angle, and allegedly reported the Titanic disaster under the headline "Northeast man drowns at sea". Its story on the people's peers features a front-page photograph of Aberdeen-born Sir Stewart Sutherland, principal of Edinburgh University, under the heading "Lord Loon". This is not as rude as it sounds, "loon" is the local dialect for "lad".
