A debate on the National Health Service, which followed allegations of ministerial in-fighting, has inspired Mary Scanlon, Conservative spokesperson on health in the Scottish Parliament. The former lecturer compared government policies to the rhyme of Solomon Grundy: "They are born on a Monday, leaked on a Tuesday, spun on a Wednesday, denied on a Thursday, rejected on a Friday, dead on a Saturday, buried on a Sunday. But that's not the end of Solomon Grundy, because it's all reannounced the following Monday."
