RAE rated by global copycats

Although many academics in the UK moan about the research assessment exercise, its rise in other parts of the world appears almost irresistible. ߣߣÊÓÆµ and New Zealand are in the midst of setting up their own versions, as are Germany and Sweden. Not wanting to be left out, Slovenia seems interested in the RAE. Last week, it invited Rama Thirunamachandran, research director at the Higher Education Funding Council for England, to advise on setting up a Slovenian RAE.
