After ten years at Cardiff the academic, who is now at another institution, is still in contact with former colleagues, chatting regularly on a professional and personal level. The academic was at work when someone identifying themselves as "from Cardiff University" called his home. The unnamed caller asked his partner why more than one employee at Cardiff should be calling the number. His partner explained. To her amazement, the representative of Cardiff University then asked: "Is this a sex chat line?"
