There is a simple solution to the difficulties faced by the blind and partially sighted at Nottingham University's new Jubilee Campus (page 3). Before it opened, education secretary David Blunkett was shown around the campus by vice-chancellor Sir Colin Campbell. By all accounts he managed to miss the water hazard and the other perils completely, with the aid of Sir Colin and a Braille map. Clearly, both should be provided on demand to less elevated users of the campus as well.
