Applications to the Peninsula Dental School have risen by 122 per cent, compared with a national average increase in applications to dentistry courses of just 10 per cent. The surge means that there are now six applicants for every place at the school, which was established in 2006 and is a joint entity of the University of Exeter, the University of Plymouth and the National Health Service.
