University of Nottingham - A real break for families

Research into the benefit of going on holiday has been carried out by an academic at the University of Nottingham. Scott McCabe, a lecturer in the university's Christel DeHaan Tourism and Travel Research Institute, explored the impact of holidays on the lives of disadvantaged families. He concluded that the experience strengthened family ties. "The debate raised here is whether a holiday is a right or a privilege," Dr McCabe said.
