University of Ulster - Safer wasp etiquette advised

A public-health biologist is alerting the public to the dangers of wasp stings and warning that the recent bad weather is no reason to let your guard down. Sue McBean of the University of Ulster's School of Nursing has developed a new website, , advising on how to prevent and treat wasp stings. Ms McBean said current information on the internet was often muddled by being placed alongside bites or stings from jellyfish and scorpions. She warns against running or swatting. If a sting seems inevitable, she says it's best to cover your face with your hands or clothing, or get face-down on the floor.
