Dundee University researcher Nigel Brockton last week broke the British speed skiing record in the Red Rock French ski championships in Les Arc.
Dr Brockton, who achieved a speed of 235.19kph (146.2mph), said: "I knew as soon as I hit the run that it was going to be good. I nailed it. It was an awesome sensation."
Dr Brockton's day job is in obstetrics and gynaecology.
