It's a big "well done" from the Diary to those academics appearing in the 2004 edition of Who's Who for the first time. The list includes professors Les Ebdon (Luton), Alison Richard (Cambridge), Michael Thorne (East London), Steven Schwartz (Brunel), Neil Gorman (Nottingham Trent) and Steven Smith (Exeter). Academics who have officially made it include: Ron Arad, Royal College of Art professor of product design; Andrew Gerard, King's College London professor of prison studies; Michael Lipton, research professor at Sussex University's Poverty Research Unit; and Michael Aston, Bristol University professor of landscape archaeology.
