A workshop on common issues affecting climate change and air quality research and policy will take place in Dublin, Ireland, on 9 and 10 January.

The ACCENT project (aerosols: impact on air quality and climate), funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) has identified key questions on common issues affecting the research and policy aspects of aerosol impacts on air quality and climate change.

To tackle these questions, ACCENT is organising a workshop for researchers, policy makers and stakeholders working in the areas of air quality, health effects and climate change. The aim of the workshop is to produce an authoritative statement on the future direction of policy-research development in the field of aerosol impacts on air quality and climate change.

The overall goals of ACCENT are to promote a common European strategy for research on atmospheric composition change, to develop and maintain durable means of communication and collaboration within the European scientific community, to facilitate this research and to optimise two-way interactions with policy-makers and the general public.
