The ߣߣ��Ƶn National University is a research university located in ߣߣ��Ƶ’s capital city of Canberra. It was established in 1946, and is still the only university to have been created by the ߣߣ��Ƶn Parliament. 
Its beginnings come from Canberra University College, which was formed in 1929. It was then integrated into the ߣߣ��Ƶn National University in 1960. 
Undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered to students here across six main subject areas: arts, society and culture; business and commerce; engineering and computer science; health and medical studies; law and legal studies; and natural, physical and environmental science. 
Professional development options are also available for those who are looking to improve their professional skills. The university has professional development options for scientists, foreign affairs professionals, policymakers, lawyers, doctors, and the general public.
The university has three campuses: the main Acton Campus in the heart of Canberra; the Kioloa Coastal Campus acting as the outdoor classroom for field visits and workshops; and the North ߣߣ��Ƶ Research Unit Campus in the Northern Territory for researchers. The university also has two observatories: the Mount Stromlo Observatory, the home of the school of astronomy and astrophysics; and the Siding Spring Observatory, the largest optical observatory in ߣߣ��Ƶ. 
Canberra is full of museums, galleries and breweries, as well as mountains and valleys. Canberra has a large student population as well as lots of markets, coffee shops and night clubs.

Key Responsibilities


	Lead end-to-end design processes, from user research and ideation to wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity UI design
	Conduct user research, usability testing, and interviews to uncover insights that inform design decisions
	Produce high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
	Support the design and development of physical products from early concept through to final production

Job Requirements


	Minimum 2 years of experience in Industrial design or UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking
	Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Interactive Design or related field.
	Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals
	A collaborative mindset with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
	Experience working within agile or iterative product development environments is a plus
	Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent
	Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360

	Supervise Industry Doctorate/Masters and capstone projects in collaboration with domain faculty and industry partners
	Contribute to SIT’s continuing education and workforce upskilling programmes (CET/CSM)
	Drive translational research outcomes, including deployment of solutions in operational MRO environments
	Serve as a technical mentor across disciplines (AI, robotics, materials), enabling cross-domain integration for smart MRO systems


Qualifications:


	PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline

Technical expertise and deep knowledge of one or more of the following areas:

As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry in its research pursuits. This position is situated within the Centre for Immersification, dedicated to applied research in immersive technologies and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university.

The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of an advanced content moderation framework for immersive 3D virtual environments, such as Roblox and Minecraft. The research staff will play a key role in building and integrating of AI agents into gaming scenarios (e.g., gameplay, interactions, procedural content generation, dynamic narratives), and integrating a multimodal detection pipeline, ensuring real-time performance, scalability, and deployment readiness in alignment with the project’s research objectives.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including renowned researchers at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities


	Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
	Collaborate with the PI, Co-PIs and NTU team to design and develop a robust and scalable software system for autonomous agents navigating immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft).
	Design and develop robust and scalable game agents to navigate and interact with immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft).
	Integrate AI agents into gaming scenarios (e.g., gameplay, interactions, procedural content generation, dynamic narratives)
	Leverage fine-tuned Vision-Language Models (VLMs) for game scenario detection, supporting zero-shot reasoning and scene-graph inference.
	Ensure the system is deployment-ready by supporting benchmarking of inference speed, compute efficiency, and scalability with concurrent agents.
	Maintain high software engineering standards through rigorous testing, version control, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of development infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, cloud-based services).
	Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
	Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
	Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.


Job Requirements


	Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field.
	Strong programming proficiency in Python and/or C++.
	Demonstrable experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
	Hands-on experience with game AI agents and/or GUI agents such as Mineflayer, Unity ML-Agents, or similar.
	Solid expertise in computer vision techniques, transformer architectures, and multi-modal learning.
	Familiarity with reinforcement learning (RL) principles, curriculum learning strategies, and the challenges of real-time systems.
	Working knowledge of distributed systems and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
	Communicate research findings and project progress effectively through demos, internal presentations, and contributions to external academic forums where appropriate.
	A genuine passion for developing AI agents for games.
	Roblox or Minecraft players are a strong advantage.

United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi

Description

The Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group) in the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an associate research scientist to work on crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography.

Candidates must have substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using either electron or X-ray diffraction techniques. While candidates with experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data will also be considered, preference will be given to those with expertise in electron diffraction. Candidates should be capable of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures, including those that are theoretically and experimentally challenging, such as structures that exhibit twinning, disorder, or that change or decay over time. Proficiency in refining structures from electron diffraction data collected using a microscope or specialized equipment is preferred.

The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is also expected to play an active role in other projects and activities within the Smart Materials Lab and assist in supervising undergraduate or PhD students.

Applicants must hold a PhD with at least 3 years of experience in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field, with a focus on crystallography.
