AECC University College is a specialist health sciences university, offering education, research, clinical and consultancy services. It was established in 1965. The university is located in Bournemouth, a seaside resort town in the south of England. The university offers courses in five main areas: chiropractic, sport, exercise and health sciences, psychology, medical imaging and radiography, and rehabilitation. Within each subject there are a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes available for students to study. Some 40 per cent of its students are international and travel from across the globe to study at the university. The AECC University College Global Partnership Scholarship is available to international students enrolling on the university’s undergraduate courses who meet certain criteria. It provides a £3000 fee reduction for the first year of study. As a science-based university, research is an important part of AECC’s activity. It aims to support positive sustainable environments and improve communities by working alongside other universities and professional organisations at both national and international level. Research is mainly carried out in the School of Rehabilitation, Sport and Psychology, the School of Radiology, and the School of Chiropractic.

In November 2024, the University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) was appointed as the operator of GBAICTI. In December 2025, the Real-World Study and Application Centre (RWSAC) was established under GBAICTI to open up local health and medical databases and promote collaboration between Hong Kong and other GBA cities. We are now seeking a high-calibre professional to join the RWSAC (located at Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone) as Data Scientist - Artificial Intelligence. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and apply advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning models to real-world data (RWD). Create innovative tools and solutions to extract deeper insights from RWD and enhance the centre’s analytical capabilities. Develop, validate, and deploy AI/ML models to support RWE generation. Leverage the RWSAC's AI facility to conduct large-scale analyses and build innovative tools derived from RWD to improve clinical practice and research. Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI/ML for healthcare and ensure methodologies are cutting-edge and scientifically sound. Ensure all AI models are developed with considerations for fairness, ethics, and transparency.  Requirements PhD degree or above preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in data engineering, data ops, or AI/ML data management, preferably in the medical and/or research sectors. Hands-on experience in building and maintaining production-grade datasets for AI/ML models. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and/or an interview.
