Mindanao State University - Sulu is a public coeducational higher education and research institution in the Philippines and forms part of the Mindanao State University System. It was established in 1974.

It was originally founded as the Sulu Development and Technical College before being integrated into the Mindanao State University system.Ìý

Located in Jolo, Sulu, the university is situated on an approximately 11.5 hectare campus about 1.3 kilometres from the town centre.

Mindanao State University–Sulu comprises eleven academic units, including the College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Computer Studies, College of Education, College of Fisheries, College of Health Sciences, College of Public Affairs, Senior High School, Laboratory High School and the MSU College of Law Sulu Extension Campus.

The university offers programmes across disciplines such as agriculture, arts and sciences, business administration, computer studies, education, fisheries, health sciences and public affairs, alongside senior high school education. It also provides legal education through its law extension campus, contributing to professional training in the region.

As part of the wider Mindanao State University System, MSU–Sulu supports the national mandate of expanding access to higher education across Mindanao. It is affiliated with the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning.

The university uses maroon and gold as its institutional colours and identifies the Sarimanok as its mascot.
