Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536819), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, i.e. Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology). Applicants should demonstrate proven capacity and potential for high-quality research, and excellence in teaching and student supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They must also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of medical and health sciences courses in the Faculty. Those with experience of having successfully developed and submitted research grants and worked effectively with major international partners and funding agencies; interacting effectively across multiple sectors; and establishing and managing studies involving colleagues from different disciplinary backgrounds may be favourably considered.

The appointees will undertake teaching responsibilities, and organize and develop both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They are expected to conduct high-quality scholarly research, provide clinical services and patient care at the University's teaching hospitals, and participate in services/administration at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. They are also expected to play a key role in leading the development of academic scholarship and teaching programmes of the Department. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.

Responsibilities:


	Design, develop, and teach laboratory sessions and practice-based modules in Aerospace MRO and related areas.
	Lead or co-lead innovative applied research and industry collaboration projects with industry partners and government agencies.
	Secure and manage research grants to support applied research initiatives.
	Supervise and mentor students in applied research projects, Capstone Projects, and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
	Manage laboratory facilities, equipment, and technical resources to support academic programmes and applied research activities.
	Ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
	Contribute to the development of applied Aerospace MRO capabilities, learning resources, and industry-relevant curriculum support.
	Work closely with faculty and internal stakeholders to drive teaching, applied research, and innovation initiatives outcomes.


Qualifications:


	A good Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
	Strong track record in Aerospace MRO, aerospace systems, or related applied research/industry practice
	At least 7 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a technical role within an organisation driving research and/or innovation outcomes
	Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
	
		Predictive Maintenance & Prognostics (PHM)
		Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and NDT/NDI

		Aerospace robotics and autonomous inspection systems
		Composite materials, damage detection, and repair

	Experience Applying Expertise to one or more of the following:

The School of Robotics is one of the seven industry-themed Schools in the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCES


	A doctoral research (normally PhD) degree in electrical and electronics, mechatronics, intelligent controls, robotics engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision, mobile robotics, machine learning, data science and analytics, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement.
	Previous experience in coding (C/C++, Python, ROS etc) in robotics-related domains.
