Job Purpose

The Research Fellow will lead the development of a Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) biosensor platform for rapid detection of microbial bioburden in biopharmaceutical cleaning validation processes. The role involves aptamer discovery, nanomaterial-based SERS sensor development, and integration with microfluidic systems for real-time monitoring of cleaning validation washout fluids. Opportunities to contribute to patent filings, translational research, and commercialization pathways will be available.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities


	Design and screen high-affinity ssDNA aptamers targeting environmental microorganisms listed in the US Pharmacopeia.
	Develop nanoparticle-based SERS substrates (Ag/Au nanoclusters) for enhanced Raman signal detection.
	Design and fabricate microfluidic sensing interfaces for continuous monitoring of cleaning validation fluids.
	Perform sensor validation using Raman spectroscopy, microbial cultures, and cleaning validation samples.
	Develop data analysis pipelines for Raman spectral classification, potentially integrating machine learning methods.


Research & Project Responsibilities


	Plan and execute experimental workflows to achieve project milestones.
	Lead prototype development and performance optimization of the SERS biosensor system.
	Communicate research outcomes through technical reports, conference presentations, and scientific publications.
	Collaborate with industry partners and interdisciplinary research teams where applicable.


Operational Responsibilities


	Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with Work Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
	Manage procurement of specialized equipment and research consumables.


Mentorship


	Mentor research engineers, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers.
	Contribute to training activities within the research group.


Others


	To communicate in any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
	Any ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor.


Job Requirements

Essential


	PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields.
	Strong publication record in biosensors, nanomaterials, Raman spectroscopy, or microfluidics.
	Demonstrated experience in nanoparticle-based biosensor development or SERS sensing platforms.
	Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for microfluidic device design.
	Experience with Raman spectroscopy instrumentation and spectral data analysis.


Preferred


	Experience in microfluidic chip fabrication (soft lithography, PDMS, or micro-machining).
	Experience with aptamer selection or molecular recognition elements.
	Experience applying machine learning to spectral data (Raman, LC–MS, or similar).
	Experience working on translational or industry-linked research projects.

About the Position

SIT invites applications for one (1) faculty position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Appointment rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, professional standing, experience, and achievements in academia, industry, research, and leadership.

We seek individuals with expertise in financial accounting and corporate reporting, particularly in emerging areas such as sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, financial instruments, and consolidation accounting. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to high-quality teaching, applied research, industry engagement, and academic leadership, while supporting the University's mission of delivering industry-relevant and practice-oriented education.

	Undertake and lead research, scholarly, and/or applied research activities in areas relevant to accounting and corporate reporting.
	Develop translatable research collaborations with industry, government agencies, and professional bodies.
	Secure competitive research funding, industry projects, consultancy engagements, or translational research opportunities where appropriate.
	Disseminate research outcomes through academic publications, industry reports, conferences, professional forums, teaching and thought leadership activities.


Candidates with prior experience in applied research, industry-funded projects, consultancy work, or real-world implementation projects are particularly encouraged to apply.

	Academic and Professional Qualifications



	A postgraduate qualification (Master's degree and/or PhD) in Accounting, Sustainability,  or a related discipline from a reputable university is desirable.
	Candidates who possess extensive and distinguished industry experience, professional expertise, and a strong record of achievements in relevant domains may also be considered, even if they do not possess a doctoral qualification.


Professional qualifications such as CA Singapore, CPA ߣߣ��Ƶ, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent will be advantageous.


	Teaching Expertise


Candidates should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas:


	Carbon Accounting

	This position is for Centre for Research on Intelligent Software Engineering (RISE).
	Support the collection of LLM applications, including web applications, mobile applications and others.
	Support the implementation and maintenance of the automated component analysis pipeline for LLM applications.
	Construct and maintain the datasets and benchmarks for the components, and support experimental evaluation.
	Coordinate project activities, including meetings, progress reporting and deliverable tracking.

Qualifications


	Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines.
	Minimum 1 years of relevant research experience in AI, data analysis or cybersecurity.
	Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python and Java will be positively considered/ is required.
	Demonstrated experience and know-how on software analysis and data analysis.
	Experience with at least one programming software/languages, such as Python, C or Java is preferred.
	Excellent working knowledge of data analysis, program analysis and vulnerability analysis.
	Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
	Applicants with research publications in AI, software engineering and cybersecurity area will be advantageous.
