Like many provincial institutions in Uzbekistan, Termez State Pedagogical Institute is a spin-off from a established university in the capital city of Tashkent.
Part of a planned expansion of 10 new pedagogical institutions across the country, it started as the Termez branch of the Tashkent Institute in 2018, attained institute status in 2021 and full independence in 2022.
Students can study at nine faculties including elementary education, pedagogy and arts, preschool, foreign language and literature, English, philology, Russian and Uzbek, mathematics and information technology, natural sciences and history.
International students are guaranteed a university dormitory place for the length of their studies. There are 23 agreements with overseas institutions.
Annual events on campus include the Boysun Spring international folklore festival incorporating a bicycle marathon, a balloon launch and folklore performances.
