The University of Nova Gorica (UNG) is a private, research oriented university, founded by two Slovene research institutes (Jožef Stefan Institute and the Scientific Research  Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts) and two Slovene municipalities. UNG’s activity includes higher education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as  well as scientific research and expert activity. UNG started its operations in 1995. Its former name, Nova Gorica Polytechnic, was changed together with its formal status in  2006, when it became the University of Nova Gorica. Today it comprises seven schools and 12 research units.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Psychology for an experienced, innovative, and student‑centred Senior Lecturer in Psychology to contribute to the continued development, delivery and programme leadership of our undergraduate Psychology programmes at University College Birmingham.

We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology degrees, and we are seeking an effective Senior Lecturer who will play a key role in leading undergraduate provision, shaping curriculum development, and delivering high‑quality teaching and learning.

You should be passionate about teaching Psychology in Higher Education and demonstrate an appreciation of the varied and applied nature of psychological theory in real‑world contexts. Primary Responsibilities


	Architect and Design Automation Systems: Develop and implement end-to-end AI-driven automation architectures to enhance both business and IT operations.
	Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional departments to identify automation opportunities leveraging AI/ML, natural language processing (NLP), and RPA technologies.
	Develop and Deploy Models: Build scalable, production-ready AI models and integrate them into enterprise systems through CI/CD pipelines.

Qualification & Experience


	PhD, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
	Minimum 5 years of professional experience in AI/ML development, automation architecture, or software engineering.
	Advanced proficiency in Python, and familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
	Practical experience with RPA platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
	Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
	Solid understanding of data engineering, APIs, microservices, and system integration.
	Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
	Industry certifications in AI/ML, Cloud Architecture, or RPA technologies.
	Experience in AutoML, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Generative AI applications.
	Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.


Note: This position requires someone who can work long hours and sometimes weekends as well as when required.

This multidisciplinary project will require a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate who will help to develop the next generation of operational forest inventory methods. The project combines unmanned aerial laser scanning (ULS), terrestrial and mobile laser scanning (TLS/MLS), statistical calibration-transfer, and machine learning technologies to improve the estimation of forest structural attributes across plantation forest environments.

Building on recently developed methods for LiDAR fusion and calibration-transfer, the successful applicant will investigate new approaches for transferring detailed structural information from limited ground-based LiDAR acquisitions to landscape-scale aerial datasets. The research will contribute to scalable forest inventory systems supporting timber valuation, carbon accounting, forest monitoring, and precision forest management.

This project has been developed in close collaboration with industry partners to ensure research outcomes directly address operational challenges and deliver practical solutions for the sector.

By working closely with leading forestry companies, government agencies and researchers, you will help create technologies that improve decision-making throughout the forest value chain and support ߣߣ��Ƶ's future timber supply.

It would be an advantage for the preferred candidate to be located in Mount Gambier.

The Strategy Delivery Unit is focused on co-ordinating and facilitating the implementation of the University's ambitious strategic plans. There are three teams within the unit covering the activities of portfolio management, change and project delivery and continuous improvement. The role will sit in the Change and Projects team but will deliver projects across the University.

The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of projects within assigned parameters including scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resource.

The role will be required to:

	Collect and analyse stakeholder feedback to help define needs and requirements and the design of key deliverables
	Oversee and manage project scope, tasks, deliverables, and timelines

The successful candidate will be an experienced project manager with a good understanding of project and change methodologies and techniques.
