The University of Swat was established in 2010 with seven departments and has since expanded to include 22 departments across three campuses across Pakistan’s Swat Valley. 
The university was created to provide higher education to residents of the Swat Valley. 
The three campuses include the main campus, Shangla Campus located in Charbagh and the Women’s Campus. The main campus is located 20km from the main city of Mingora in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an area recognised as a hub of culture, heritage and nature and known for its hospitable locals. Mingora City is often referred to as Mingora Bazaar due to its large business presence. 
The university offers 35 degree programmes across six faculties: language and literature, physical and numerical sciences, management and social sciences, religious and legal studies, chemical sciences and life sciences.

	The position is initially limited until February 28, 2027.

	You will become part of Prof. Benjamin Schnieder's research group Phlox (https://phloxgroup.wordpress.com/). Phlox conducts research in theoretical philosophy, with particular emphasis on metaphysics and the philosophy of language and logic.
	You will also actively collaborate in the FWF project Knowledge in Crisis (KiC: https://www.knowledgeincrisis.com/.)

You will:


	contribute to the intellectual life of the research group Phlox and the KiC project.
	participate in research, teaching, and administration at the Department of Philosophy.
	produce excellent research in philosophy.
	take part in and help organize research activities, e.g. reading groups or workshops.
	(co-)apply for third-party funding for your research.
	independently teach courses within the BA and MA philosophy programs (the teaching load is 4 SWS in the first term; no mandatory teaching load after the first term).
	supervise students in your areas of competence.
	participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
	take on administrative and organizational tasks.

Required:


	AOS: metaphysics
	AOC: philosophy of language and logic, epistemology, and/or history of theoretical philosophy
	Completed doctoral studies in philosophy
	Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals (appropriate to career stage)
	Ability to work in a team
	Teaching experience (appropriate to career stage)
	Excellent knowledge of English (C1)
	Willingness to organize academic events; prior organizational experience is an asset.

About  External Relations Directorate

We have built an External Relations Directorate that has brought together an integrated Communications & Engagement and Student Recruitment & Marketing service. About the  Role

As a School Marketing Executive, you will play a vital role in the operational delivery of strategic marketing and recruitment plans for specific academic subject areas. Working within the External Relations Directorate, you will be responsible for executing integrated, multi-channel marketing activities that drive engagement and support recruitment goals. You will act as a key liaison between the Directorate and Academic Schools, leading on a variety of marketing initiatives and providing detailed reports on performance and return on investment (ROI) to keep stakeholders informed.


	Operational Execution: Deliver multi-channel marketing and recruitment activities tailored to allocated subject areas to ensure synergy across all University channels.
	Stakeholder Support: Support the School ERD Account Manager in building and managing relationships with key academic stakeholders, including Deans, Heads of Department, and Course Leaders.
	Content & Campaigns: Help deliver subject-specific content initiatives and marketing campaigns that align with broader institutional priorities.
	Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities, ensuring that academic Schools are updated on progress and outcomes.
	Event Participation: Support the delivery of major recruitment events, including open days and offer holder days, both on and off-campus.


About You

You are a results-driven marketing professional with a high level of attention to detail and experience in executing multi-channel campaigns. You possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt information based on feedback and present it clearly to various audiences. You are a proactive problem-solver who can use your initiative and creativity to resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines. While experience in Higher Education recruitment and knowledge of admissions cycles is a significant advantage, we also value experience in using enterprise marketing software such as Google Analytics. The role

The post will be based in the Department of Sociology, a lively and collegiate department with a strong emphasis on both teaching and research. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong research background (i.e. publishing, applying for/achieving funding), as well as document evidence of teaching in areas of criminology, including specialisms within digital crime. The post will also involve supervising dissertations, supervising placement students, and contributing to the pastoral care of students. About you

We are looking for candidates with a relevant doctoral degree awarded, with a strong research and teaching background. Evidence of publishing high-quality publications and delivering teaching (ideally with relevance to criminology, specifically digital crime) are key criteria for candidates to demonstrate. 

You must be able and willing to teach modules across the Department (in both Criminology and Sociology) and undertake key student support and relevant pastoral duties as well as other administrative duties.

Please note that these roles will be offered at either Lecturer A or Lecturer B depending on your experience (see job profile below for further details). The salary range for a Lecturer A (Research and Teaching) starts at £42,254 and Lecturer B starts at £47,389.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiation Physics Laboratory Manager to lead the safe and effective operation of our radiation teaching laboratory, which has recently been refurbished as part of a £2.7M project providing state-of-the-art facilities. This is a varied and technically engaging role that combines laboratory management, radiation safety leadership, and support for both teaching and research activities.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will play a central role in ensuring that all laboratory operations comply with current regulations, while delivering an excellent environment for undergraduate and postgraduate learning.

Although your major responsibility will be to manage the radiation teaching laboratory and source stores, you may also be required to undertake experimental procedures in other Physics laboratories to support teaching and research activities.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Management and Radiation Safety


	Lead the day-to-day management of the radiation teaching laboratory, ensuring safe and compliant operations at all times.
	Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), maintaining compliance with ionising radiation regulations and best practice.
	Develop and implement risk assessments, justifications, protocols and contingency plans for laboratory activities.
	Oversee the secure storage, tracking, and record keeping of radioactive sources and nuclear materials.
	Manage ordering, issuing, receiving, and disposal processes in line with relevant legislation (including IRR17).
	Support regulatory inspections and ensure audit readiness at all times.


Teaching and Student Support


	Provide technical support for undergraduate and postgraduate laboratory classes.
	Train and supervise students in the safe use of equipment and experimental techniques.
	Deliver inductions, technical advice, and ongoing support for undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.


Equipment and Technical Expertise


	Maintain and repair laboratory equipment.
	Ensure laboratories are fully operational and prepared for teaching and research use.
	Provide specialist technical advice and problem-solving expertise to staff and students.


About you

You should:


	Have good communication skills and be able to deliver a high level of customer care.
	Have knowledge of relevant legislation such as "IRR17" and a strong understanding of the health and safety aspects of working with sealed and unsealed radioactive materials.
	Be well organised, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
