Role Description

London Cranfield Airport is a commercial, research and general aviation (GA) airport situated between Bedford and Milton Keynes, and is home to several companies which provide commercial flight training, maintenance, and research and testing for industry and government projects.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Air Traffic Control Assistant (ATCA) to join a busy team that performs a safety critical function in providing Air Traffic Services to all airport and local airspace users. In particular this individual will assist the Air Traffic Control Officer in undertaking the following duties: 


	Maintaining data displays in accordance with published procedures
	Alerting the emergency services in accordance with published procedures
	Accepting booking out details from pilots and prepare flight progress strips in accordance with local procedures
	Psuedo piloting and exercise creation on our Tower and Radar Simulators
	Maintaining and amending aeronautical documents and publications (as required)
	Liaising with local agencies as required
	Maintain a log of movements and record statistics as required
	Undertake tasks associated with the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) Safety, Quality, and Security Management systems as directed in order to comply with regulatory requirements.


Training will be provided; however, to be successful in this post you will need to demonstrate that you are flexible, resilient and able to produce work that is accurate in a timely manner in what can be a demanding environment. It is essential that you are able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, and that you can provide an efficient, professional service to our clients. In additional will need to feel confident in your ability to use Word and Excel and to work as part of a small motivated team.

About you

	Strong expertise in culturally safe research practices, including qualitative methodologies (e.g. Yarning Circles, interviews, community-based approaches)
	Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with Aboriginal communities and organisations, grounded in trust and respect
	Experience influencing strategy, policy, and institutional direction, with a commitment to equity, inclusion and Indigenous leadership

The Strategy Delivery Unit is focused on co-ordinating and facilitating the implementation of the University's ambitious strategic plans. There are three teams within the unit covering the activities of portfolio management, change and project delivery and continuous improvement. The role will sit in the Change and Projects team but will deliver projects across the University.

The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of projects within assigned parameters including scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resource.

The role will be required to:


	Lead the planning and implementation of projects
	Collect and analyse stakeholder feedback to help define needs and requirements and the design of key deliverables
	Oversee and manage project scope, tasks, deliverables, and timelines
	Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path
	Matrix manage staff teams
	Facilitate the delivery of benefits


The successful candidate will be an experienced project manager with a good understanding of project and change methodologies and techniques. They will be able to build trusted relationships with teams across the university, will be a good communicator, and will be tenacious and pragmatic. They will have experience of delivering change in complex environments, plus, they will be excited about - and motivated by - Durham University's ambition and the opportunity to play a key part in making it happen.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum expectation of two office-based days each week. Candidates should be willing and able to increase their office attendance, up to five days per week when required by business needs.

About the opportunity

The Senior Lecturer (Education) makes significant contributions to teaching and learning and provides educational leadership within the School or Faculty. dedicating the majority of their workload to education (approximately 70-80%), the role leads curriculum innovation, delivers high-quality teaching, and mentors staff to enhance educational excellence and student outcomes. This position carries significant responsibility for leading and coordinating assessments for Sydney medical Program with a focus on clinical assessments. This includes evaluation, quality assurance and contributing to improvements in assessment design and implementation. Experience with designing and managing electronic assessment portfolios is desirable. The Level C academic is expected to work independently and collaboratively with the assessment team and academics and professional staff across the Office of Medical Education (OME) and clinical school sites. The position requires strong leadership skills, including mentoring junior staff and clinical teachers, contributing to faculty development and student and educator assessment literacy. The role requires participation in advisory group meetings across the year (including the Portfolio Advisory Group: PAG) and contributing to communications to students and clinical school staff and addressing arising queries. The academic is required to manage competing priorities of different groups and resources while maintaining assessment integrity and pedagogical standards. They should develop productive relationships with OME and clinical school staff and, at times, may have to work under tight timelines.

The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist position, in the area of Quantum Chemistry. The candidate is expected to conduct research in quantum science focusing on the physical chemistry aspects, especially NMR and NV centers. Prior expertise in these areas is highly encouraged.

The selected candidate will work on cutting edge technologies in an excellent research environment, within the newly established Quantum Lab. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate cutting-edge interdisciplinary questions within the theoretical and experimental aspects of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science and Engineering, from various points of view. The selected candidate will also have great opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research problems with other postdocs of the center.

We also expect successful applicants to do cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and work in synergy towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. Ability to work and connect to more than one topic and having interdisciplinary perspective is an advantage, but disciplinary applications will be considered as well having a focus and in-depth expertise in a particular topic mentioned above.

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and possess relevant expertise:


	A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field, with specialization and expertise in Quantum Chemistry, NMR, or NV-centers, with at least 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
	In this role, the candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the Quantum Lab, designing quantum experiments in the above areas leading to advancement in the field.


The appointment will be for a period of two years, and extensions to longer terms are possible upon review.

The terms of employment for these positions include a very competitive salary with additional attractive benefits, including generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world class facilities, annual home leave allowance, and (if applicable) dependent private school fees. Salaries are tax-free in the UAE (for US tax, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion can be used). The researchers will have dedicated funds for traveling, computing, publications, etc. and will have access to excellent world-class research facilities.
