, located in the capital city of Tashkent, was founded in 2021 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The president established a new modern university as the flagship institution of tertiary education in Uzbekistan.

New Uzbekistan University is the first public autonomous university in Uzbekistan.

It is a world-class university with a mission to develop top talents across the country and around the world to nurture future leaders and innovators. NewUU is dedicated to encouraging the best academic and professional practices through an integrated multi-disciplinary curriculum and research.

Teaching and learning

Five Faculties of NUU provide research based learning with high quality of academic knowledge in a range of subjects across the,,,,. Studying these disciplines can help students develop critical skills, expand their knowledge base, and prepare for successful careers in a variety of industries.

All undergraduate programs are taught entirely in English and internationally standardized. NUU cooperates with leading universities in this sphere in particular, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of the USA, for the development of human skills, and with the Technical University of Munich, Germany, for the development of technical skills.

We invite applications for two postdoc positions in optics in our institute. Deadline for receipt of applications: May 1, 2026. The candidate will work in the newly created Laboratory of Material Science, Laser, and Nanotechnology under the supervision of Prof. Rashid Ganeev. The members of our laboratory work on the applications of lasers for material science, nonlinear optics, and nanotechnologies. The studies will include the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, high-order harmonic generation in laser-induced plasmas, gases, and solids, low-order nonlinear optical characterization of quantum dots, thin films, and other materials. Academic Qualifications and Skills Required: PhD in Physics with a strong grasp on Optics and Lasers. Demonstrated record of research activity. Strong experimental skill with a background in some of the following subjects: Lasers, Nonlinear Optics, Nanostructuring, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, High-order Harmonic Generation. Programming skill. About the Department: The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management at New Uzbekistan University is a comprehensive program designed to develop future leaders in industrial and operations management. The Lecturer is a member of the Department of General Education and delivers English-medium instruction primarily for Academic Communication Skills to first-year undergraduates across STEM and Humanities/Social Sciences cohorts. The role provides EAP/ESP-based teaching to develop seminar participation, presentations, discussion of readings, and short academic texts using appropriate academic language (vocabulary and register) and ethical source use. The Lecturer implements shared assessments and interactive pedagogy, adapts tasks and materials for different disciplinary contexts, localizes content for the Uzbekistani setting, and may teach additional General Education courses relevant to academic communication and student success, subject to departmental needs and qualifications. Key Teaching Areas Academic & Communication Skills: seminar discussion, academic speaking, presentations, and collaborative communication English for Academic Purposes (EAP) / English for Specific Purposes (ESP): academic vocabulary and register, discipline-relevant language use, and communication in university contexts Integrated Academic Language Skills: speaking, listening, academic reading, and reading-to-write/speak tasks aligned to course outcomes Academic Literacy & Integrity: source use, paraphrasing, summarising, referencing basics, and responsible use of information Foundational Academic Writing Support: short academic texts (e.g., paragraphs, summaries, reflections), organisation, clarity, and mechanics as required by course tasks Intercultural Communication & Classroom Norms: culturally responsive teaching, participation norms, and localization of materials/examples for the Uzbekistani context Assessment and Feedback: implementing common rubrics, providing formative feedback, and supporting students across mixed proficiency levels Core Responsibilities Teach a teaching load in English as defined by the employment contract and departmental workload policy, including associated office hours and assessment duties.
